and women just want to snuggle. How else to explain the latest craze in Japan?
Japanese designers have filled the gap in the beds of lonely single ladies by creating the Boyfriend Arm Pillow, a partner who will happily hug them to sleep without making any demands.
The pillow comes with two shirts in blue and pink, which can be washed and ironed to enhance that loving housewife experience.
One model is also an alarm - the boyfriend's body shakes to wake his sleeping girl.
A spokesperson for the manufacturer said: "It has been so successful we have had to draw up a waiting list."
"Women of all ages have been queueing round the block to take one home."
The R450 pillow is currently available only in Japan but may soon be exported.
Apparently they are also creating a "girlfriend pillow" for men. I assume this one will have a huge head of hair that gets in your mouth or tickles your nose as you are trying to sleep? And the head will be heavy enough that it will cause your arm to fall asleep while she snores loudly in your ear?
Actually there is no need for the Japanese company to design such a thing. American technology is already way way ahead of them (Warning - not work safe).
Internet problems prevented me from blogging this morning. Specifically, router problems.
So I haven't even had a chance to surf around for news or other things to sufficiently upset me enough to post.
Trouble dog is going for his first obedience class tonight so mabye that will provide some interesting fodder for discussion. Although I doubt it. Belgian Shepherds have a unique ability to understand when they are "working" and when they aren't they are the consumate performers in class room and competition settings but as soon as they get home they turn back into goofs.
Ok, officially I am supposed to be doing my blogroll additions on Sunday. But since it was a long weekend it didn't get done till now.
So here we go with another list of great blogs for you to read.
Curtis in Colorado Springs publishes a_sdf and also writes "(music) in a sort of post-classical style, but not really- more of a new age/contemporary vein with a splash of Tunisian folk dances." Cool.
Damian Brooks who has been haunting the comments section of my blog and Damian Penny's blog and maybe lots of other blogs has finally gotten of his ass and started his own blog. Guess what? It's pretty good with two running commentaries: one main posting section and a sidebar blog as well. Oh yeah and it's called Babbling Brooks.
Michael Daiboch thinks John Kerry will lose the election. I hope he will lose but am not entirely sure. If he wins we truly will be Living in Unmentionable Times
Ian and I have been talking BBQ for so long now that I forgot that I haven't added his blog to the list. How could we not have CBC Watch on the blogroll? It's essential.
Polyspy is a group blog and has way too much good stuff; it features two photographers and an ex CBC staffer. It also looks a lot like a government site. Didn't they get a nasty letter about that or was that Blogs Canada?
As mentioned earlier the 30,000th visitor to this site came via Ianism. Is there a better reason to add someone to the blogroll? Well that and he added me to his.
I should have had fellow Yamaha rider Kate on my blogroll a lot earlier. Small Dead Animals finally makes it's appearance on the blogroll.
Conservative Party of Canada Pundit Steve Taylor and I both can't believe it took us so long to add each other to the blogroll but here we are....
Sometime on Friday the Sitemeter recorded the 30,0000th visitor to this site since I added the counter sometime in late August last year.
Lucky number 30,000 came from Ianism. Sorry no prize. But I am adding you to the blogroll.
While it is gratifying that 30,000 visitors have come to the site in the past 11 months lets put things in perspective:
Michael J. Totten gets that amount in a month. IMAO gets 30,000 visitors every 7-8 Days It takes Andrew Sullivan about 2 days to hit that mark. Instapundit gets 30,000 visitors roughly every 5 hours.
So we do have a long way to do. I think a good goal would be to double traffic over the next year, so that 12 months from now The hit counter will be closer to 100k.
Ideas on ways to increase traffic flow greatly welcomed and no I am not getting a webcam and blogging nude. Well I do blog nude some times but trust me you don't want to see that.
